Product Overview
The Cisco C9K-PWR-650WACL-R/2 is a hot-swappable, front-to-back airflow 650W secondary redundant AC power supply module engineered exclusively for Cisco Catalyst 9500 Series fixed-form-factor high-performance enterprise switches. It has identical electrical and mechanical specifications to the primary unit C9K-PWR-650WACL-R, deployed as the secondary power unit to build a 1+1 redundant power architecture. This alternate-version PSU delivers regulated 12VDC power for switch forwarding ASICs, management subsystems, interface modules and internal cooling assemblies, supporting automatic seamless power failover to eliminate single-point power failure risks for aggregation and data center switching infrastructure.

Specification Difference Note: Compared with standard C9K-PWR-650WAC-R / C9K-PWR-650WAC-R/2, this alternate model features shorter power hold-up time and adjusted surge withstand capability.
Hardware Compatibility
Fully compatible with Catalyst 9500 series switches including C9500-32QC, C9500-24Y4C, C9500-48Y4C models. It works paired with C9K-PWR-650WACL-R primary power supply within the same chassis. Mixed deployment with standard C9K-PWR-650WAC-R series is physically supported, however Cisco recommends matching identical PSU variants for redundant configurations. This power supply cannot be used on Catalyst 9400 modular chassis or Catalyst 9500X platforms. Vacant power bays must be covered withC9K-PWR-C4-BLANKfiller panels to maintain chassis airflow, thermal balance and EMC compliance. Mixing power supplies with inconsistent airflow directions in one rack environment is not recommended.
