Product Overview
The Cisco PWR-C45-1000AC is a hot-swappable 1000W AC-input data-only power supply module designed exclusively for Cisco Catalyst 4500 and 4500-E Series modular chassis switches. This field-replaceable unit provides stable multi-rail DC power to supervisor engines, line cards, backplane and internal cooling subsystems. This model isdata-only and does not support PoE power delivery. It can run as a standalone power source or pair with an identical PSU (PWR-C45-1000AC/2) to implement 1+1 redundant power configuration, eliminating single-point power outages for enterprise core and aggregation modular switching infrastructure.

Important Restriction: This PSU supplies system data power only. It cannot provide IEEE 802.3af PoE power. PoE-enabled Catalyst 4500 deployments require PoE-capable power supplies such as PWR-C45-1300ACV or PWR-C45-2800ACV.
Vacant power slots must be fitted with official filler panels to maintain chassis airflow, thermal balance and EMC compliance. This power supply cannot be installed on Catalyst 9000, 3850 or other non-C4500 modular switch chassis.
Matching secondary redundant variant:PWR-C45-1000AC/2.
Minimum required firmware: Cisco IOS 12.1(12c)EW or CATOS 7.4(1).
