Product Overview

The Cisco NXA-PDC-930W-PE is a hot-swappable 930W DC Field-Replaceable Unit (FRU) power supply module built for Cisco Nexus 9000 FX/FX2/FX3 fixed-form factor data center switches. It adoptsPort-Side Exhaust (Forward Airflow)design identified by a blue handle, engineered for standard telecom -48VDC power environments and NEBS compliance. This DC power unit delivers stable 12VDC output for high-density 10/25/100G leaf-spine switching platforms, suitable for carrier, enterprise colocation and ACI fabric data center infrastructure that utilizes telecom DC power feeds.

  1. 930 Watt Continuous Rated Output
    Delivers maximum 930W 12VDC power output. Supports 1+1 redundant configuration and dynamic load sharing to eliminate single-point power failure risks for mission-critical network deployments.
  2. Telecom Standard Negative DC Input
    Designed for traditional telecom -48V DC power systems:
  • Input Voltage Range: -40 VDC ~ -60 VDC (nominal -48 ~ -60 VDC)
  • Max Input Current: 23A @ -48 VDC
  • Input Type: Negative DC telecom terminal connection
  1. Port-Side Exhaust (Forward Airflow)
    Air enters the switch from fabric side and exhausts out of port side.
    Important Note: All power supplies and fan trays installed in one chassis must maintain identical airflow direction. Do NOT mix PE (port-side exhaust) and PI (port-side intake) modules. AC and DC power modules cannot be mixed within the same switch.
  2. Hot-Swap FRU Architecture
    Supports online insertion and removal. Engineers can replace faulty power modules without powering down the host switch to enable non-disruptive hardware maintenance.
  3. Real-Time Telemetry & LED Status Indication
    Front-panel LED indicators display DC input status and operational health. The module transmits temperature, voltage and fault alarm data to the NX-OS operating system via chassis backplane.
  4. Multi-Layer Hardware Protection
    Built-in overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), overtemperature protection (OTP) and short-circuit protection to safeguard both the power supply and host switch hardware.
  5. High Power Conversion Efficiency
    Efficiency exceeds 92% at 50% rated load, minimizing power loss and thermal generation to reduce data center cooling expenditure.
