C9300-24UXB-E Full Official English Specification Description
1. SKU Definition
Catalyst 9300 Higher-Scale Deep-Buffer 24-port Multi-Gigabit (100M/1G/2.5G/5G/10GBASE-T) RJ45 UPOE Switch with modular rear uplink slot, preloaded perpetual Network Essentials license, stackable enterprise Layer2+ basic Layer3 access switch
-
UX: Multi-Gigabit mGig auto-sensing RJ45 ports + Cisco UPOE, max 60W per port via LLDP power negotiation
-
B: Higher Scale Deep Buffer hardware variant, enlarged packet buffer and expanded MAC/routing/ACL table capacity versus standard UX models for heavy multicast, surveillance video and burst Wi-Fi6 traffic
-
-E: Preinstalled Perpetual Network Essentials permanent license (basic L2 + limited L3 routing; advanced routing, SD-Access, TrustSec/MACsec/ETA features locked by default, requires upgrade to Network Advantage for full unlock)
2. Product Overview
Cisco Catalyst C9300-24UXB-E is a 1U rack-mount stackable enterprise access switch built on UADP 2.0 ASIC and Cisco IOS XE operating system, designed for high-density Wi-Fi 6/6E AP, multi-gigabit IP camera and smart building IoT access deployment. Deep-buffer higher-scale hardware mitigates packet loss and latency under traffic congestion; managed via local Console/CLI, on-prem web GUI or basic Catalyst Cloud monitoring, SD-Access fabric requires license upgrade to Network Advantage to enable full functions.
Port & PoE Hardware Specifications
-
24×Multi-Gigabit Smart Rate RJ45 downlinks auto-negotiate 100Mbps/1G/2.5G/5G/10GBASE-T; every port supports IEEE802.3af/at PoE+ and Cisco proprietary UPOE with maximum 60W single-port power delivery
-
Factory default single modular PWR-C1-1100WAC AC power supply installed; baseline PoE budget = 560W. Optional redundant second 1100WAC PSU expands total PoE budget up to 1440W; Cisco StackPower supports cross-stack power resource pooling across stacked units to fully supply 60W UPOE to all ports simultaneously
-
Single rear modular uplink expansion slot compatible with official C9300 uplink network modules: C9300-NM-4G (4×1G SFP), C9300-NM-4M (4×10G SFP+), C9300-NM-2Q (2×40G QSFP+), C9300-NM-8X (8×10G SFP+), flexible uplink bandwidth ranging from 1Gbps to 40Gbps
Core Higher-Scale Hardware Performance (UXB exclusive upgrade vs regular UX)
-
Standalone switching fabric capacity: 640 Gbps; aggregate stacking capacity up to 1120 Gbps
-
Wire-rate IPv4/IPv6 forwarding throughput: 476.19 Mpps; maximum stacked aggregate forwarding: 833.33 Mpps
-
Stacking technology: Cisco StackWise-480 with 480Gbps per-stack bandwidth; maximum 8 identical C9300-series switches can be stacked into one logical chassis via dedicated stacking cables
-
System hardware: 8GB DRAM +16GB onboard flash storage, three hot-swappable variable-speed cooling fans; embedded Catalyst 9800 onboard wireless controller supports centralized management for up to 200 Cisco enterprise wireless APs
-
Higher-Scale Table Specifications (UXB core enhancement):
-
MAC address table: 64,000 entries (double standard UX’s 32,000 entries)
-
IPv4 routing table:64,000 entries, IPv6 routing table:32,000 entries, Multicast route table:16,000 entries
-
ACL/QoS table capacity:18,000 entries; Jumbo frame support up to 9198 Bytes
-
Packet Buffer:32MB deep buffer (standard UX =16MB), optimized for bursty video, multicast and high-density wireless traffic
3. Feature Scope under Preloaded Network Essentials (-E) Perpetual License
Included Base Features (unlocked natively with Essentials license)
-
Full Layer 2 switching suite: 802.1Q VLAN (max 4094 VLAN IDs), STP/RSTP/MSTP, LACP port-channel aggregation, port security, DHCP Snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection(DAI), 802.1X/MAB wired authentication, broadcast storm suppression, Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE)
-
Basic Layer3 routing: Static routing + RIP only; no OSPF/EIGRP/BGP/IS-IS/VRF/PIM dynamic routing support by default
-
Fundamental QoS: Layer2 CoS/DSCP marking, basic ingress queuing & traffic policing
-
Basic monitoring: Standard SNMP, limited Flexible NetFlow function, local syslog
Locked Advanced Features (require paid upgrade to Network Advantage license to activate)
Full dynamic routing suite (OSPF/EIGRP/BGP/PIM/VRF-lite), TrustSec SGT segmentation, chassis-wide AES-256 MACsec encryption, Encrypted Traffic Analytics(ETA), SD-Access VXLAN-EVPN fabric, advanced hierarchical QoS, complete IPFIX/Flexible NetFlow, advanced zero-trust security policies
Remark: Separately purchased Cisco DNA Essentials/Advantage term subscription is required for DNA Center automation, network assurance and cloud analytics functions, independent of perpetual Network Essentials hardware licenseCisco.
