1. Plug-Side Intake (Front-to-Rear) Airflow

   Cool air enters from the power supply connector side and exhausts toward router rear ports.

   Important Note: AC and DC power supplies cannot be mixed within the same ASR1002-HX chassis. Only identical PSU models can be installed together. This model cannot be used on ASR1001-HX, ASR1002-X or other ASR1000 family routers.
2. Hot-Swap / OIR Support

   Supports Online Insertion and Removal (OIR). Engineers can replace faulty power modules without powering off the router, enabling non-disruptive hardware maintenance and minimizing service outages.
3. LED Status Indicators & IOS-XE Telemetry

   Faceplate OK/FAIL bi-color LEDs display input power and operational health. The module continuously reports operating voltage, internal temperature and fault conditions to the IOS-XE operating system for remote monitoring and alerting.
4. Multi-Layer Hardware Protection

   Integrated overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), overtemperature protection (OTP), surge protection and short-circuit protection to safeguard both the power supply and ASR1002-HX router hardware.
