Product Overview

Important Notice: This product is End-of-Sale (EoS) legacy hardware. It is anexternal backup power system, NOT a hot-swappable internal chassis PSU. It cannot directly power network hardware without dedicated Cisco RPS DC cables.

1. 600 Watt Total Power Capacity
   Supports up to four connected network devices (max 150W per load). Three operational modes:

• Fully redundant mode: Supports 2 devices with seamless instant failover (no device reboot)
• Quasi-redundant mode: Supports up to four devices
• Reboot redundant mode: Standby backup requiring endpoint reboot during power switchover (not recommended)

1. Dual Redundant Universal AC Input
   Worldwide wide-range mains specification with dual independent AC power inlets for extra input redundancy:

• Input Voltage: 100 VAC ~ 240 VAC
• Operating Frequency: 50 Hz – 60 Hz
• Two standard IEC C14 power inlets for separate AC power cords

1. External Rack-mount Form Factor

   Supports 19-inch / 23-inch / 24-inch standard rack installation, also suitable for desktop deployment. Equipped with four independent DC output ports for connecting multiple network endpoints.

   Important Note: Special proprietary Cisco RPS cables (CAB-RPS series) are mandatory for connection. Not compatible with modern Catalyst 9000 / 3850 / 3650 switches, ISR4000 routers or Firepower security appliances.
2. Non Hot-Swap Chassis Unit

   The RPS600 main unit requires full power shutdown for internal component maintenance. Connected network hardware maintains operation when seamless failover mode is used.
3. Front Panel LED Status Monitoring

   Dedicated status LEDs display AC input status, DC output activity, fan health, temperature alarms and fault conditions for straightforward on-site troubleshooting. Limited SNMP telemetry supported for compatible Cisco routers.
4. Multi-Layer Hardware Protection

   Built-in overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), overtemperature protection (OTP), surge protection and short-circuit protection to safeguard the RPS unit and connected network infrastructure.
5. Multi-device Compatibility

   Works with legacy Cisco LAN and routing hardware that features an RPS external power interface.
