Product Overview

Important Note: This hardware is End-of-Sale (EoS) legacy equipment. It requires proprietary Cisco RPS cables to connect to supported switches and cannot directly power network hardware without compatible cabling. It can back up up to six connected devices, yet onlyone failed device receives backup power at the same time.

1. 675 Watt Total Continuous Power Capacity

   Supports dual DC output voltages:+12V for non-PoE switches and -48V for PoE-enabled switchesrunning IP phones and wireless access points. Failover latency is less than 60 microseconds to prevent connected switches from restarting during primary PSU failure.

1. External 1RU Rack-Mount Form Factor

   Designed for standard 19-inch equipment racks, can also be deployed on desktops. Equipped with six independent RPS output ports.

   Important Note: Use only official Cisco CAB-RPS series proprietary cables. Not compatible with modern Catalyst 3650/3850/9000 switches, ISR 4000 routers, Firepower security appliances, or RPS2300 cabling.
2. Non Hot-Swap Main Chassis

   The RPS675 unit itself must be fully powered down for maintenance. Connected switches remain online during automatic power failover events.
3. Front Panel LED Status Monitoring

   Visible status LEDs indicate AC input status, DC output channel activity, fan operation, temperature and fault alarms. Supported switches can report RPS operational status via Cisco IOS for SNMP remote monitoring.
4. Multi-Layer Hardware Protection

   Integrated overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), overtemperature protection (OTP), surge protection and short-circuit protection to protect the RPS unit and connected LAN infrastructure.
5. Dual-Tier Power Protection Deployment

   Can work alongside external UPS systems: UPS provides hold-up power during mains blackouts, while RPS675 protects against sudden internal switch power supply breakdowns.
