Product Overview

Important Note: This chassisdoes not ship with power modules by default. It supports hot-swappable 750W or 1150W AC power supply modules. It can connect up to six network devices and simultaneously provide active backup power for maximum two connected units. The RPS 2300 is not a UPS; it protects against equipment internal PSU faults and separate AC circuit loss, not utility mains blackouts.

1. Modular Power Architecture with Max 2300W Total Capacity

   Supports two hot-swappable power supply slots, compatible with 750W or 1150W AC PSU modules. It supplies dual DC output voltages: +12V for non-PoE hardware and -52V for PoE-enabled switches powering IP phones and wireless APs. Ultra-fast seamless failover prevents network device restarts during primary power failure.

   Worldwide auto-ranging mains specification for each installed power module:

• Input Voltage: 100 VAC ~ 240 VAC
• Operating Frequency: 50 Hz – 60 Hz
• Standard IEC C14 inlet on each power supply module

1. 1RU Rack-Mount Form Factor

   Standard 19-inch rack-mount design. Equipped with six dedicated RPS output ports. Two types of proprietary Cisco RPS cables are required: CAB-RPS-2300 for legacy hardware and CAB-RPS-2300-E for Catalyst E-series switches.

   Important Note: Backward compatible with devices supported by older RPS675. Do not mix different generation RPS cables. Not compatible with Catalyst 9000, 3850, Meraki cloud switches or Firepower security appliances.
2. Hot-Swap Support for Internal Components

   Installed power supply modules and system fan module support online insertion and removal without powering down the entire RPS2300 chassis. Connected network devices remain protected during module replacement.
3. Front Panel LED Status & IOS Intelligent Management

   Front-panel LEDs display power input status, channel activity, fan health, temperature and fault alarms. Supported Catalyst switches can manage RPS priority settings, monitor power status and generate fault notifications via Cisco IOS and SNMP.
4. Multi-Layer Hardware Protection

   Integrated overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), overtemperature protection (OTP), surge protection and short-circuit protection to safeguard the RPS chassis and all connected network infrastructure.
5. Dual-Circuit Power Resilience Option

   The two internal power modules can be connected to separate AC power distribution circuits to further enhance power infrastructure reliability.
