Product Overview
The Cisco FAN-MOD-4HS is a hot-swappable high-speed integrated fan tray exclusively designed for theCisco Catalyst 6504-E modular switch chassisandCisco 7604 modular service router chassis. The tray contains eight built-in fans delivering side-to-side airflow to provide uniform cooling for supervisor engines, line cards, power supplies and all internal chassis hardware. Only one fan tray bay exists on Catalyst 6504-E / 7604 chassis; a fully functional fan tray is mandatory for safe continuous equipment operation.
Important Note: This fan tray is chassis-dedicated hardware. It cannot be interchanged with FAN-MOD-3, FAN-MOD-3HS, FAN-MOD-6 and other fan trays for Catalyst 6500 / 7600 series different chassis variants. Individual fans inside the tray are not field-replaceable; the entire tray must be replaced once any internal fan fails. Operating the chassis without an installed fan tray triggers critical thermal alarms and may lead to permanent hardware damage caused by overheating.
