Product Overview
The Cisco FAN-MOD-6HS is a hot-swappable high-speed integrated fan tray exclusively designed for theCisco 7606 and 7606-S modular service router chassis. It serves as the high airflow upgrade variant of the standard FAN-MOD-6 fan tray. The integrated tray contains multiple built-in fans delivering side-to-side airflow, providing uniform cooling for route processors, line cards, power supplies and all internal chassis hardware. Each 7606 / 7606-S chassis holds only one fan tray slot; a fully functional fan tray is mandatory to guarantee safe continuous equipment operation.
Important Note: This tray is chassis-specific hardware. It cannot be interchanged with FAN-MOD-6 (standard speed), FAN-MOD-3HS, FAN-MOD-4HS and other 6500/7600 series fan trays. Individual fans inside the tray arenot field-replaceable. The entire tray must be replaced once any internal fan fails. Operating the chassis without an installed fan tray triggers critical thermal alarms and risks permanent hardware damage caused by overheating. FAN-MOD-6HS is strongly recommended when deploying Supervisor 720 and high-power line cards to satisfy higher thermal dissipation requirements.
