Product Overview

The Cisco N9K-C9504-FAN is a hot-swappable variable-speed fan tray purpose-built exclusively for theCisco Nexus 9504 (N9K-C9504) 4-slot modular spine switch chassisbelonging to the Nexus 9500 cloud-scale platform. It delivers port-side intake (front-to-back) forced airflow to cool supervisor modules, line cards, fabric modules and all internal chassis hardware. The Nexus 9504 chassis accommodates up to three fan tray slots, and a minimum of two operational fan trays are required to maintain adequate system cooling.
Important Note: This fan tray is chassis-specific hardware and cannot be interchanged with N9K-C9504-FAN2, nor fan modules for Nexus 9508, 9516, Nexus 7000 series or other Cisco switch platforms. Individual fans inside the tray are not field-replaceable; the entire tray must be swapped out upon internal fan failure. Operators must ensure all installed fan trays and power supplies share identical airflow direction. Insufficient cooling will trigger thermal protection mechanisms to avoid permanent hardware overheating damage. ESD safety procedures must be followed during module replacement.
